TAKE OFF SURF SCHOOL
Take Off Surf School is all about helping people truly learn to surf—understanding the ocean, improving their skills, and building confidence in the water. The focus is on quality instruction, personal growth, and a strong connection to nature.
Founded by Jesús Zabala, a passionate surfer with the dream of creating a space where anyone can learn in a safe, fun, and supportive way, Take Off offers more than just surf lessons.
To help students progress faster, the school integrates extra training tools like surf skate, apnea (breathwork), functional workouts, ice baths, and more… These activities are part of the learning process and are designed to strengthen the body, sharpen the mind, and improve overall surf performance.
The team is made up of experienced local instructors who know the waves inside out. They offer guidance in multiple languages and create a positive, professional environment for surfers of all levels.

TAKE OFF SURFING
Jesús Agustín Zabala Gorrin is a Venezuelan surf pioneer who has spent over two decades shaping the surf culture of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. Founder of the renowned Take Off Surf School in Playa Hermosa, Santa Teresa, he’s best known for creating the region’s leading Kids Surf Camp, now expanded to El Salvador. With a deep commitment to community, nature, and high-quality instruction, he has also served as a private instructor to several high-profile international clients, earning a reputation for excellence in the global surf community.
